Crochet Basket (Sold Out)

$ 107.28

You’ll be hooked making this yarn basket!

Super stylish, this textured crocheted basket is the next lovely addition to your home. Use it as we do, as a yarn basket, keeping your wool right where it needs to be when crocheting or knitting – or use it for anything else you’d like to store!

You’ll need to know your way around a hook and a few foundation stitches or have completed our beginner’s crochet workshop to make this beauty.

We’ll teach you a few more essential techniques that will help add to your crocheting know-how, as well as the how-tos for making more baskets in other sizes.

Everything for this project will be provided for you when you join us for a great afternoon of mindfully making.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

In this workshop, you will make your own crocheted basket to take home.

You will learn how to:

  • use ‘spaghetti’ yarn made from recycled T-shirt fabric – ideal for this project
  • crochet a basket with 2 handles using easy fundamental stitches (finished size approx 17cm wide x 8cm high)
  • increase your stitches and ‘work in the round’
  • control your stitching tension
  • work on making crocheted handles
  • strengthen your pattern reading skills
  • make your own handmade piece during class that you’ll have to keep and use again and again
  • build your crocheting confidence
  • use your creativity and initiative to make baskets of all sizes using your newly-found knowledge
  • make these for other uses around your home – they’ll also make the perfect festive gift!

Our crochet guru Judy, will take you through all the steps, tips and tricks, to ensure you master these skills to keep crafting at home.

*Please note, this workshop serves refreshments which include gluten flours, dairy, nuts, egg and other potential allergens.
