Henry and Grace are trusted friends and are lovingly made in Europe to go hand in hand with your child on new adventures. Perfect as your baby’s first teddy bear or as a gorgeous newborn gift.

Their cream coloured tweed fabric bodies are stylish yet very durable (our past colours of Grace + Henry have been grey tweed and brown tweed). Their clothing is removable and hand washable.

Grace wears a summer gingham dress whilst Henry wears beige trousers, a grey t-shirt and a blue rain jacket.

Henry + Grace also feature in the photography inside our Life + Notes baby milestone journal so which makes these two products the perfect match for a unique and thoughtful baby gift.

The history of the teddy bear

As you’re putting so much thought into your baby’s first teddy bear, we thought you might like to know a little about the interesting history of this much-loved stuffed toy.
While it seems like stuffed bears have been for centuries, the teddy bear as we know it today was only created in 1902.
The first teddy bear was made in Brooklyn, New York, in response to a historical moment when then President Teddy Roosevelt refused to shoot a black bear that had been tied to a tree and offered to him as sport.
It wasn’t long before cuddly stuffed bears were being crafted around the world, quickly becoming a favourite bedtime toy for children and keepsake gift for a new baby.
